The family-owned Latin ice cream shop — already operating in Santa Clara and San Jose — announced a first San Francisco location at 4053 18th Street. No opening date confirmed; the space is under construction.

Angela's Ice Cream, a family-owned South Bay shop with locations in Santa Clara and San Jose, announced plans for its first San Francisco outpost: a new location at 4053 18th Street in the Castro District.

Founded by Angela Garat, the business specializes in small-batch ice cream, fresh-fruit paletas, and traditional Mexican desserts — a menu built around Latin American flavors: Horchata, Mango Chamoy, Mazapán, and Abuelita Mexican Chocolate alongside more familiar Cookies and Cream and Mint Chip. The shop also serves aguas frescas, sundaes, and banana splits.

Garat announced the expansion via the company's social media on June 19. The Castro space is currently under construction; no opening date has been set.

The move puts a South Bay operator in one of SF's busiest walkable corridors — 18th Street between Sanchez and Noe pulls consistent foot traffic from both neighborhood regulars and tourists, and the stretch has absorbed a run of new retail in recent years. Seat count and lease terms weren't disclosed in the announcement, and the City's business registration database showed no SF filing as of press time, which is typical for a space still in build-out.

Price point and hours aren't confirmed. When the Castro location opens, Angela's will be operating three Bay Area storefronts — both an operational expansion and the clearest signal yet that the South Bay concept is finding enough of a customer base to justify moving north.
