GG Orchestra and Sudo Choir bring Zelda, Final Fantasy VII and a stack of anime and film scores to Herbst Theatre on Sunday, Aug. 30. Here's the when, where and how to get a seat.

GG Orchestra, the Bay Area game-and-anime music ensemble, plays Legends After Dark — A Game, Anime, and Film Symphonic Concert at Herbst Theatre, 401 Van Ness Ave. (at McAllister) on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 6:00 p.m. Guest vocalists Sudo Choir join them. Tickets are sold through City Box Office only — no Eventbrite, no Ticketmaster.

The program is a greatest-hits run for anyone who grew up with a controller or a subscription queue: music from The Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy VII, Genshin Impact, Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer, Star Wars, and Studio Ghibli's My Neighbor Totoro, with a longer "and more" the group teases toward Pokémon and others. This is billed as the orchestra's Herbst Theatre debut — a real step up from the group's earlier local shows, and the roughly 900-seat War Memorial house is the right size for it: good sightlines just about everywhere, no bad-seat nosebleeds.

One thing to know before you buy: pricing is seat-by-seat on the City Box Office map, and there's no published price list — you click a seat to see its tier. If you're coming without a car, this is a Civic Center trip — BART and Muni Metro drop you a two-block walk away, which beats circling for parking around the Opera House on a Sunday night. Driving anyway? The Performing Arts Garage on Grove is your closest bet.

What I'd do: buy now rather than at the door — it's reserved seating, so the good pairs go first, and a one-hour-before box office window is a thin safety net for a debut that anime and game crowds tend to fill.
