The Outer Sunset pool-and-sports bar at 1232 Noriega St has closed after operating since 2014, and a neighbor reports construction inside and a new bar apparently moving in — though no successor has filed with the City yet.

OneUp Bar, the pool-and-sports room that anchored a stretch of Noriega Street in the Outer Sunset for more than a decade, has closed — and a neighbor says the space is already being gutted for whatever comes next.

The bar sat at 1232 Noriega St, near 19th Avenue, and had been there a while. City business records list the room's "One Up" registration under the ownership entity Sunset Drift In Lounge Inc, with a registration date of July 16, 2014 — roughly eleven years on the corner. Its listing shows the bar as closed as of an August 2026 update, and while OneUp's own website still advertises its old hours — Tuesday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. — that page appears to have simply not been taken down.

The tip came the way most Sunset news does: a resident walking past. In a post to the r/sanfrancisco forum this week, a neighbor wrote that OneUp "looks like it closed down," with "construction work inside" and what looked like "a new bar moving in." An earlier social-media notice from the bar had described the shutdown as temporary, but the space did not reappear.

Who's taking over is the open question. As of this filing, no new liquor license and no successor business registration have surfaced for 1232 Noriega — nothing at the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, nothing new in the City's business rolls. The construction is the only public sign that someone has plans for the address.

That leaves OneUp as another Outer Sunset drinking room to go dark this year, on a Noriega corridor that has been quietly turning over — a pool hall with darts, draft beer and game-day TVs, closed after eleven years, with the next tenant still working behind papered-over windows and no name on the door.
