Three self-made Season 16 runway looks from RuPaul's Drag Race winner Nymphia Wind are on view at the Asian Art Museum's Shriram Experiential Learning Center through Sunday, June 14. The display is free; the sold-out talk already happened.
Three of Nymphia Wind's self-made Season 16 runway looks — the ones that helped the Taiwanese-American queen win RuPaul's crown in 2024 — are on view at the Asian Art Museum's Shriram Experiential Learning Center, 200 Larkin St., through Sunday, June 14. The museum is open Sunday 10 a.m.–5 p.m. The fashion display is free, according to the SF Standard's Waggle column; main-gallery admission runs around $20 and up if you want to keep wandering. Civic Center/UN Plaza BART is about a block away on Larkin.
The hook here is that Wind showed up in person to help install the display — the museum posted behind-the-scenes footage on Instagram — which gives these looks a different weight than a loan from a costume archive. This is closer to an artist hanging their own show. Her "Nymphia Wind Undressed" talk at noon today was sold out, so if you missed that, the fashions are still yours through closing tomorrow.
Go before noon Sunday if you can. The morning crowds at Civic Center museums are thin, and you'll have the pieces to yourself in a way the afternoon won't allow.
