Chef Patrick Gabon's Naides picked up a first Michelin star at the 2026 California Guide ceremony on June 24 — roughly six months after opening a 10-to-12-seat Filipino tasting menu counter in the former Sons & Daughters space on Bush Street.

Chef Patrick Gabon named his restaurant after his mother. On Wednesday night in San Diego, Michelin gave it a star.

Naides, the Filipino tasting menu at 708 Bush Street in San Francisco, picked up a first Michelin star at the 2026 California Guide ceremony on June 24 — joining a small number of Filipino restaurants in the country to hold the distinction. The restaurant opened in December 2025 in the former Sons & Daughters space, putting the star about six months into the restaurant's run.

The room registered with the City in July 2025 under Kili Hospitality Group LLC. Gabon runs the kitchen alongside partner Celine Wuu, who manages the floor. The format is a 10-to-12-seat counter, one seating per night, with an 11-to-13-course menu priced at $205 per person. Michelin inspectors called it "a jewel box operation" and "a labor of love," writing that Gabon and Wuu serve "an original interpretation of Filipino cuisine in the form of a stylishly modern tasting menu," drawing on "Californian ingredients (including foraged herbs and flowers), traditional flavors and bold creativity."

The ceremony in San Diego on June 24 revealed nine new California one-star awards — Naides among them. The same night saw two Bay Area promotions to three stars: Californios in San Francisco and Enclos in Sonoma.

The 2026 guide leaves no Bay Area starred restaurant demoted. Naides joins an SF roster that now stretches from the Mission to the edge of the Financial District — and adds Filipino cuisine to a lineup that, until this year, had none.
