Qatar faces Switzerland at Levi's Stadium this afternoon — kickoff 4 p.m. PT. The FBI has activated Operation Goal Kick around the venue, with specific fan-facing rules that will catch people off guard.
Qatar faces Switzerland at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium — Levi's Stadium to everyone who lives here — 4900 Marie P. DeBartolo Way, Santa Clara, for the Bay Area's first World Cup match. Kickoff is 4 p.m. PT (7 p.m. ET.) today, Saturday, June 13. Switzerland is a prohibitive favorite at -465.
The FBI activated its "Operation Goal Kick" for this game — a multi-agency security operation involving more than 20 federal, state, and local agencies, including Santa Clara police, San Jose police, and the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department. Ground enforcement teams, bomb technicians, and federal prosecutors are embedded in intelligence centers on site. The FBI says the presence will be low-profile by design. The enforcement, however, is specific.
Leave the drone at home. A no-fly zone extends 3 miles around the stadium, to a ceiling of 3,000 feet, running from three hours before kickoff through three hours after — roughly 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. PT. Flying in that zone means your drone gets seized and you could face federal prosecution. The FBI has prosecutors in the room specifically to action violations.
Verify your ticket source. FBI Special Agent in Charge Scott Schelble specifically named counterfeit and fraudulent tickets as a known threat. If you didn't buy through official FIFA channels, confirm the ticket before you get on the train.
For transit: Caltrain and VTA Light Rail both stop at Great America station, a short walk from the gate. Driving means negotiating a security perimeter and a full parking lot — plan extra time either way.
