The venue's own listing for the 9:30 PM to 2 AM event is specific: "nu metal. emo. punk rock. alternative metal." DJs Apollyon, Selena Catwoman, DJ 5umk1d, and Fantoms will hold down the floor upstairs. "Lost in the pessimistic state of perception? Feel like you tried so hard and got so far, but in the end, it doesn't even matter? So tired of being here, suppressed by all your childish fears? Well, wake up and get down with the sickness!" reads the DNA Lounge calendar entry for the night, which promises anthems from Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Linkin Park, and System of a Down, alongside a My Chemical Romance takeover and iconic Emo tracks. The series has run continuously since 2023, with bookings extending into 2026.

Across the bay, Cornerstone Craft Beer & Live Music at 2367 Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley hosts "House of Heavy," a DJ-driven night built on nu-metal, alt-metal, and metalcore — Slipknot, Korn, Deftones — with a July 18 date the most recent documented instance. Concerts50.com, which tracks the event's bookings across venues, counts 21 shows in its history. The event describes itself as "therapy at 120 decibels." No follow-on Cornerstone date is confirmed on published calendars as of this writing.

Cat Club at 1190 Folsom St. in San Francisco previously hosted a third-Sunday night called "NU METAL WORLD" — featuring DJs Apollyon and Louis XVI spinning nu-metal and goth in the back room, industrial and EBM up front, with a $10 cover from 9 PM to 2 AM for 21-and-up patrons. The most recent calendar entry for the series on the venue's own site dates back to July 2023. As of this writing, Cat Club's posted operating hours explicitly list Sunday as closed, indicating the "NU METAL WORLD" night is no longer active.

What the region doesn't offer: a bar with nu-metal or metalcore as a fixed ambient feature — a room where you walk in on a random Tuesday and hear the genres over the house speakers. No recurring equivalent nights appeared in any Oakland or San Jose calendars checked. Deathcore, as a distinct programming genre, doesn't appear in any region-wide event listings at all.
