Toronado, the craft beer bar that has occupied its Lower Haight address at 547 Haight Street for decades, built a reputation as one of the city's most serious tap lists — Belgian ales, West Coast IPAs, rotating rarities — served in a room that made no apologies for being dark and loud. The Deluxe, a few doors down, ran a similar long tenure as a neighborhood bar and diner, the kind of place that fed Haight Street residents breakfast and burgers across multiple eras of the block's history.

Details on operators, ownership changes, and what each space will look like on reopening are not yet confirmed. The team behind each has not made a public statement as of this writing.

What's clear is that both closures left a gap on a stretch of Haight Street that has cycled through a lot of turnover in recent years. Two long-running businesses returning to the same block at roughly the same time is not something that happens often in this city — more commonly, a shuttered institution stays shuttered, and the space gets retenanted by something new.

The full list of June openings tracked by SF Standard includes three other spots across the city. Details on those as they become available.
