Salsa on the Pier has announced an indefinite hiatus after 13 years. The free community replacement is Sunday Salsa 2026 at Oakland's Brooklyn Basin boardwalk — every Sunday, 3–7 PM, no cover.

Salsa on the Pier, the Oakland waterfront Latin social that ran for 13 years, is officially done — for now. "Rising costs, increased competition, and ongoing confusion have made it unsustainable to continue in our current format," the organizers wrote on their site. No return date is posted.

Sunday Salsa 2026 is the active replacement. It runs every Sunday at the Brooklyn Basin boardwalk in Oakland, roughly 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, weather permitting. Free, no cover, no RSVP. DJs spin salsa and bachata. Street parking is available nearby. Listings are actively maintained at latinbayarea.com and salsavida.com.
