Mixue, the global fast-food giant known for its ultra-affordable soft serve and boba, has opened its inaugural Bay Area location in Sunnyvale, marking its entry into the region's competitive dining scene with prices rarely seen in the market.

Mixue, the fast-food chain boasting over 53,000 locations worldwide, has made its Bay Area debut in Sunnyvale, bringing its signature low-priced soft serve and boba to the region. The new outpost, located at 1641 Hollenbeck Ave. in the Shoppes at Homestead strip mall, officially opened its doors on July 10, 2026.

The Sunnyvale location is operated by Mixue Beverage (USA) Co. Ltd., a California-registered foreign corporation that filed its initial registration on November 21, 2023. This U.S. entity is tied to the broader Mixue Group, which is listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange and controlled by founders Zhang Hongchao and Zhang Hongfu. The chain's aggressive pricing strategy, with menu items topping out at $4.99 and soft serve available for $1.59, is a hallmark of its global model, enabled by the company's vertically integrated supply chain that controls sourcing and manufacturing from its own factories in China.

The shop itself is designed for efficiency, prioritizing a grab-and-go experience with a small footprint. While an exact seat count isn't publicly available, the space is described as having limited seating, featuring a few tables and three touchscreen self-service ordering kiosks. The interior is accented with the brand's distinctive red color and includes a life-size Snow King mascot, a recognizable symbol for patrons of the international chain.

Mixue's arrival in Sunnyvale introduces a new dynamic to the Bay Area's food landscape. Its commitment to ultra-low prices stands in stark contrast to many local establishments, offering an insight into the strategies of a global titan entering a high-cost market.
