MIX Bar, a new cocktail bar with live DJs, held its grand opening on May 7, 2026, at 2320 1/2 Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda, according to Berkeleyside and Oaklandside. The room occupies the space that previously housed the Lost Weekend Lounge.

The operators are associated with Somar Bar, the Uptown Oakland lounge that ran for 14 years at 1727 Telegraph Avenue before closing September 29, 2023. Somar was a family business owned by Edgar Ramos, Liz Ramos, Armando Ramos, and Michael Golondrina. The menu includes craft cocktails; Oaklandside reports drinks that include a pandan old fashioned and a Sonrisa built with bourbon, calamansi, and egg white.

The City of Alameda approved an administrative use permit on October 16, 2023, to re-establish bar use at the address, conditioning alcohol sales on the operator first securing a Type 41 ABC license. No business registration for MIX Bar appears in available California Secretary of State or Alameda County public records, and no license number tied to the address has surfaced in California ABC records. Seat count and menu pricing have not been disclosed.
