The Longfellow Community Association's annual neighborhood-wide yard sale runs today, Saturday June 20, from 10am to 2pm across 50 participating households in North Oakland — including a dedicated free section where everything costs exactly nothing.

The Longfellow Community Association's annual yard sale is back and bigger than ever — 50 participating households spread across the neighborhood this Saturday, June 20, from 10am to 2pm. No entry fee, no wristband, no app required.

The neighborhood spans North Oakland between Highway 580 to the south, Adeline Street to the west, 51st Street to the north, and Highway 24 to the east. A digital map of all 50 participating sales is up at longfellowoakland.org/yardsale — pull it up before you go and plan a route. The LCA, a volunteer-run 501(c)3, organizes the sale each year; according to a post in r/oakland from one of the organizers, this is the biggest edition yet.

The "Free Sale" designation isn't a gimmick: some stops are fully no-cost, everything-must-go setups. Mix and match — you can buy at one house and pick up free at the next.

Getting there: MacArthur BART drops you at the southern edge of the neighborhood (40th & San Pablo). From there it's a walkable few blocks north into the thick of it. If you're driving, residential side streets fill fast by 11am — get there by 10:15 if you want first look. The organizers ask: no early birds before 10am.

If you've only got an hour: Download the map, pick the cluster closest to MacArthur BART, and work north. The free stops tend to clear out by noon.
