After a three-year hiatus, Fresca Peruvian Kitchen is preparing to reopen in San Francisco's Noe Valley, with a new liquor license secured for its 3945 24th St. location.

Fresca Peruvian Kitchen, a longtime San Francisco institution recognized for its ceviche, is set to reopen in a new Noe Valley location, signaling its return three years after closing its last city outpost. The restaurant, operated by the Calvo Perez brothers, has secured a Type 47 liquor license for the new space at 3945 24th St., where remodeling efforts are currently underway.

The move marks a new chapter for Fresca, whose Inner Sunset location closed on September 30, 2023, after 13 years of operation. The Calvo Perez family, including brothers Julio, Jose, and Ivan, continue to be at the helm of Fresca Restaurants Inc., the entity behind the returning business. Jose Calvo Perez, who also recently opened Lomo Libre in the Sunset District in May 2024, has affirmed the family's continued presence in the city's Peruvian dining scene.

The newly issued Type 47 On-Sale General – Eating Place liquor license on February 14, 2025, with an expiration date of November 30, 2025, grounds the Noe Valley project in concrete terms, though an official opening date has not yet been announced. This strategic relocation to Noe Valley, a vibrant corridor, suggests a betting on a neighborhood with established foot traffic and a community eager for diverse culinary offerings. The restaurant's sustained return, even after a hiatus and in a new location, illustrates the enduring appeal of established names and specific cuisines in San Francisco’s dynamic dining landscape.
