According to a tour announced on Dr. Simi's own social accounts and relayed by KRON4, the mascot of the Mexican pharmacy chain Farmacias Similares has two South Bay dates: Aug. 24 at the CVS at 576 E. El Camino Real in Sunnyvale, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Aug. 25 at the CVS at 4550 Meridian Ave. in San Jose, same hours.

What's worth noticing is where the events land. Dr. Simi is a Farmacias Similares character — the chain built a following in Mexico on low-cost generics and a dancing mascot fans pelt with plush dolls at concerts. But the Bay Area stops aren't at a farmacia. They're at CVS, the incumbent American chain, which since last year has been stocking Dr. Simi merchandise and now runs a dedicated brand-shop page for him at cvs.com — plush dolls, keychains, gummy supplements, skincare.
