SoccerFours, a San Francisco nonprofit, runs co-ed 4v4 drop-in pickup soccer every Wednesday at 7 PM at Beach Chalet Turf Soccer Fields in Golden Gate Park — $12 a session, no team required, spots still available through August.

If you've been hunting for a reliable pickup game in San Francisco, the answer is Wednesday night at the western end of Golden Gate Park.

SoccerFours, a San Francisco-based 501c3 nonprofit, runs co-ed 4v4 drop-in soccer sessions every Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Beach Chalet Turf Soccer Fields — the lit synthetic fields near Ocean Beach at the far end of the park. Sessions are $12 per person, book through soccerfours.org, and the schedule runs through at least late August 2026.

The format is deliberately low-stakes: no scorekeeping, no slide tackling, and subs rotate in every two minutes on a bib-color system, so nobody parks on the bench. Teams are assembled on the spot — no pre-made squads, no ringer clubs stacking a side. As their site puts it, it's "community soccer," not a league night.

Current sessions show 37–38 spots available for upcoming Wednesdays, so you won't be turned away at the door — but registering ahead locks your spot. Sessions typically fill as the week closes.

Getting there: The Beach Chalet fields sit at the Great Highway end of the park. Street parking runs along the Great Highway and on Fulton. Muni's 5-Fulton line drops you at the park's north edge. The fields are lit, so the 7 PM start is well-illuminated even in summer fog.

The insider move: If Wednesday doesn't work, SoccerFours also lists Franklin Square Turf Field and Kimbell Playground as locations on their site — but the active published schedule as of this week is Beach Chalet only. Check soccerfours.org directly for any added sessions.
