Saturday and Sunday, June 13–14, three free outdoor music events run across San Francisco — and none of them charges at the gate.

Golden Gate Park Band Festival anchors the weekend at the Spreckels Temple of Music bandshell on the Music Concourse, both days, 11am–5pm, free, no tickets. It's a back-to-back parade of community concert bands: Saturday brings the Daly City AllStars, Watsonville Community Band, Sunset Community Band, Cupertino Symphonic Band and the Deutscher Musikverein of San Francisco; Sunday closes with the Golden Gate Park Band at 1pm, Las Pulgas Big Band and the American Historical Brass Band Society. Closest transit is the N-Judah to 9th & Irving, then a walk in. Skip the Music Concourse Garage line on a sunny Saturday and park out by the Bison Paddock off JFK instead.

Same Saturday, OMINODAY World Music Festival runs free at the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater in McLaren Park — a steep, leafy bowl most people forget exists. It honors the late Andrew "DJ Domino" Ele. The listing gives the date and venue but not a set schedule, so check the Funcheap page for start and set times before you head out. McLaren Park is reachable via the 29 and 54 Muni lines; parking on Mansell is limited, so leaving the car at home is the safer bet.

Sunday, Stern Grove Festival opens its 89th season at 2pm (19th Ave & Sloat) with Peter Cat Recording Co. and SF's own Marinero. Note the change: it's still free, but General Admission now runs on a lottery that's already closed for this date. Your remaining shots are the in-person Community Box Office (1,500 free tickets, first-come) or a paid reserved table — check sterngrove.org before you go. Free bike valet at 21st & Wawona.

Two hours? Do the bandshell at 1pm Sunday for the Golden Gate Park Band — it's the easiest, no-strings free show of the three.
