The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment hosts a free, three-hour intro to Blender on Sunday, August 2nd — aimed at nonprofits and community orgs who need 3D visuals for grants, marketing, and architectural projects.

The Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment is hosting "3D Workflows for Community Projects," a free three-hour workshop, on Sunday, August 2nd, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at 921 Washington St., Oakland. The session introduces Blender — the open-source 3D software — with a focus on the kinds of outputs nonprofits and mission-driven teams actually use: grant-application visuals, marketing materials, and architectural renderings for community projects.

Knowing how to produce a clean 3D rendering can change how a project reads to a funder or a city board — and Blender is free to download and keep using after the workshop ends.

Entry is free; a $10 donation is suggested. Register in advance at luma.com/8b6k4k5v. BART to 12th Street/Oakland City Center is a short walk from the door. If you're driving, SpotHero lists nearby parking from around $5.

While you're there: The MADE bills itself as the first and only fully playable video game museum in the country, with thousands of retro console titles on the floor. Build in extra time.
