Free volunteer event at Jefferson Square Park on July 11, 2026, 9 AM-12 PM, part of citywide One City Day initiative with gardening and cleanup activities.

Join the citywide One City Day initiative at Jefferson Square Park this Saturday, July 11, for a morning of community service. The volunteer event runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the park's Turk Street and Gough Street entrance in San Francisco's Civic Center neighborhood.

Volunteers will plant new vegetation, spread mulch, pull weeds, and pick up litter to refresh this vibrant community space. A brief speaking program is scheduled from 9:15 to 9:45 AM, so arrive between 9:00 and 9:15 AM for check-in to catch the full program.

The event is free and open to all ages. Registration is handled through Mobilize at mobilize.us/onecityday — groups of 10 or more should email onecityday@sfgov.org. The initiative is led by Mayor Daniel Lurie and First Lady Becca Prowda, with support from SF Recreation and Parks and SF Public Works.

Jefferson Square Park is accessible via Muni lines 5, 19, 31, and 38, with the Civic Center BART station about three blocks away. Street parking is available but limited in the area. Bring gloves and water if you have them; tools will be provided.

If you only have two hours, plan to stay for the 9:15 AM program and help with the initial planting and mulching efforts before the noon wrap-up.
