This is not a city festival with a sponsor stage and $18 cocktails. It's a small coastal community fundraiser that happens to have decades of muscle memory behind it — which means the line moves, the food is straightforward, and the setting (Muir Beach, green hills, ocean view) does most of the heavy lifting. The crowd trends local and multigenerational. Kids are fine. Dogs depend on the year.
Getting there: Muir Beach is off Highway 1, about 30 minutes from the city — no BART option. Drive, or coordinate a carpool. The lot at Muir Beach fills fast; arrive before noon if you want to park close. Cell service is thin, so screenshot your tickets and directions before you leave the bridge.
If you have two hours: eat, walk the short trail down to the beach, come back for dessert. That's the whole trip and it's enough.
