This one isn't about city hall or budget blowouts — it's about a neighbor who needs help.
Mijo, an 8-year-old grey tabby with black stripes and a tan undercoat, didn't come home Wednesday night, April 22nd. His owner says the 13-pound neutered male is an indoor-outdoor cat who's well known around the 7-Eleven at 41st Street and Broadway. He was last seen wearing a black collar with a reflective strip and bell, with his owner's contact info on the inside.
His owner is worried that someone may have picked him up thinking he was a stray, or that he's gotten trapped somewhere in the neighborhood. If either of those scenarios sounds like something you've encountered this week, check the collar — the contact info is right there.
We don't usually run lost pet posts, but community is community. One of the things that actually makes a neighborhood work isn't a government program or a line item in somebody's budget — it's people looking out for each other. That includes keeping an eye out for a friendly tabby who likes to hang around the local convenience store.
If you're in the Outer Richmond area near 41st and Broadway, take a look around porches, garages, and any spots where a curious cat might have gotten himself stuck. And if you've seen Mijo, reach out to his owner directly using the info on his collar.
Bring him home, folks.
