The block parties are the logistical wild card: free entry, street-closure footprints, and the kind of food vendor clustering that makes parking a non-starter. BART is the right call for anything near Civic Center or the Mission corridors. The world premiere is the rarer ticket — productions in their first run tend to sell out the back half of the week once word gets around, so if that's your target, buy before Thursday.

Practical note: late May in SF means marine layer through noon, then a window of sun, then wind. Layers are not optional at outdoor events. If you're hitting a block party in the afternoon, the 3–5pm slot is usually when the crowds thin and the food lines move.

With two hours, I'd go to the block party closest to a BART stop, eat first, then walk to whatever live music is happening within six blocks. The premiere is worth a separate night on its own.
