When a worker asked how he was doing, the man reportedly responded with a cheerful "I'm good!" — which, apparently, is exactly how Bob would say it.

The kicker? The witness had been listening to Dylan's music the entire car ride over. The universe works in mysterious ways, or confirmation bias is one hell of a drug. Either way, they were too spooked to actually ask the guy if he was, you know, Bob Dylan.

Here's where it gets plausible: Dylan is scheduled to play the Greek Theatre in Berkeley on June 13-14. He has deep Bay Area ties going back decades, including his old connection to counterculture icon Wavy Gravy, who just celebrated his 90th birthday with a massive benefit concert at the Masonic on May 16. Cat Power, Steve Earle, and Aloe Blacc all performed. Would Dylan swing through town early to see an old friend honored? It's not crazy.

Then again, as one local put it, "You'd be surprised how many lookalikes exist here. Just bike around the city and you'll come across his doppelganger or some other famous music icon daily." Fair point. This is a city where you can see three guys who look like Jerry Garcia before lunch.

But here's what we actually love about this story: it's a reminder that San Francisco is still the kind of place where a living legend might just wander into a taqueria on Balboa Street, order like a regular, and disappear into the fog. No security detail. No VIP section. Just a man and his burrito.

Whether it was really him or just some random bloke with great taste in food and a coincidental resemblance — the answer, friend, is blowin' in the wind.
