A three-day Berkeley run that's mostly free: national Free RPG Day lands at Games of Berkeley on Saturday with a bonus drink deal, Les Aerielles perform trapeze at Lawrence Hall of Science for $5 Sunday, and Tell It on Tuesday celebrates 21 years at The Marsh Berkeley.

The weekend starts Friday. Berkeley Art Club's Midsummer Market takes over Donkey and Goat Winery (1340 5th St, West Berkeley), Friday June 26, 5–9 p.m. — live music, natural wine pours, and local vendors selling ceramics, zines, art prints, and upcycled clothing. Donations accepted for Centro Legal de la Raza. Free.

Saturday, June 27 is Free RPG Day — the national tabletop holiday when game publishers release free modules and stores run pickup games for anyone who walks in. Games of Berkeley is in for the full run: 11 a.m.–9 p.m., with giveaways, crafts, intro sessions, and one-shot campaigns for players of all ages and experience levels. No purchase necessary. But if you do buy something, keep the receipt — Victory Point Cafe is honoring it for a free drink that day, which is a legitimately good deal. Also Saturday morning (9 a.m.–noon), the field behind Live Oak Community Center hosts a Disaster Preparedness Family Game Day: digital fire extinguisher demos, prep-themed games, prizes.

Sunday, June 28: Lawrence Hall of Science (1 Centennial Dr, up in the Berkeley hills) drops admission to $5 per person, 11:30 a.m.–2 p.m., paired with a live outdoor performance by Les Aerielles, an aerial trapeze duo who set their act to music. For families, this is the move — the Lawrence's views and exhibits alone are worth the trip, and $5 is well below their normal rate. Right after, BAMPFA hosts a clothing swap with Swap Circle (1–4 p.m.): bring what you're done with, leave with something new. Free with RSVP.

On Tuesday, June 30, Tell It on Tuesday at The Marsh Berkeley (2120 Allston Way) celebrates its 21st anniversary, featuring synthesizer pioneer Doug McKechnie on piano stories and Albertina Zarazúa Padilla among the raconteurs. Check themarsh.org for times and tickets.

Tip: Free RPG Day morning slots at Games of Berkeley fill with regulars; afternoon open-table sessions are friendlier to newcomers. Victory Point Cafe is nearby — plan a session gap around it.
